Star Wars: Darth Bane: Path of Destruction

I actually bought this book some time ago and it has been sitting on my shelf. I’ve been waiting to read this series for a while, but I am glad that I waited: not because the book wasn’t good, just because I get to review it on this blog and catalog my journey through all the books in the Star Wars Universe.  Admittedly I haven’t read much of the Star Wars Universe yet, but to date, this is probably the best Star Wars book I have read, with exception of maybe Death Star (Star Wars)

The author does a fantastic job of tying the Sith of the Old Republic time period into the Sith that we have seen in the movies. Of course I’ve only read the first book, but even it holds some key truths to reasons behind why the Sith in the movies, and later books, act the way that they do and practice the power of the Dark Side as they do, also. Darth Bane is a force to be feared, and he reminds me much of Darth Vader with his ruthlessness and power of the Dark Side of the Force. The story starts with Bane as a regular human worker named Des, and we get to see his long transformation into one of the most powerful Sith in print today.

The author’s work of prose is very well done too. I find myself browsing around Amazon more, looking at other pieces of his work.

If you enjoy the lore behind the 6 Star Wars films and the overall Star Wars universe, this will be a great read for you.
